Logging in to the "mCLASS home" website for the first time

  1. Obtain your mCLASS username from your principal
  2. Open up Internet Explorer
  3. Go to http://www.mclasshome.com
  4. Click on the "Need help logging in? Click here" link
  5. Enter your mCLASS username and your BSD email address and click "Send"
  6. If you receive the "Reminder Sent" message, check your BSD email account for an email containing a temporary password that will allow you to login to the mCLASS home website and change your password
  7. If you receive the "Sorry, we were unable to find a match..." message, notify Janet and she will call Wireless Generation and ask them to activate your account

Using mCLASS Sync for the first time

  1. Make sure the netbook/tablet is connected to an active network cable
  2. Login to the netbook using your regular BSD computer account
  3. Double-click the "mCLASS Sync" icon on the Desktop
  4. Enter your mCLASS username and password and click the "Sync" button
    • Note: it can take several minutes to sync the very first time. The DIBELS software and your class roster are all being downloaded and installed in the background
  5. When you see the "Your sync is complete" message, close mCLASS Sync by clicking on the "X" button in the upper right of the window
    • Note: You should run the mCLASS Sync application before and after you perform a series of mCLASS DIBELS assessments
  6. You should now see an mCLASS DIBELS icon on your Desktop

Using the mCLASS DIBELS application to perform an assessment

If you have recently synced using the mCLASS Sync application, the netbook/tablet DOES NOT need to be connected to an active network cable when performing a DIBELS assessment. You only need to connect the netbook to an active network connection when you want to run a sync OR use the internet.
  1. Login to the netbook using your regular BSD computer account
  2. Double-click the "mCLASS DIBELS" icon on the Desktop
  3. Click "Start"
  4. Click a box to the right of a student's name to begin an assessment
